Our School

Mortensen is proud of our welcoming learning environment! Our teachers are highly qualified and are dedicated to meeting needs of all of our students. As a Positive Behavior Support school, our students follow our Bulldog BEs: BE Respectful, BE Responsible, and BE Ready to Learn! Wonderful parent volunteers assist in our classrooms and support our many activities. Our annual traditions include our Winter Gathering, Pizza on the Lawn, Doughnuts for Dads, and Muffins for Moms. Our school is also fortunate to have a center program for children with autism. We would love the opportunity to share our accomplishments, programming, and our beautiful school with you!

Some sources of school pride...

  • We take pride in our welcoming environment. Staff members strive to create a safe atmosphere with high academic expectations where all students thrive.

  • We are a Positive Behavior Support school, and we work to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready to Learn.

  • Mortensen has a supportive community of parents involved in our PTO and in our "Partners in Education."

  • Mortensen Elementary sponsors a top-notch Drama Club with an annual spring performance that showcases the talents of 40 to 50 children in our intermediate grades. Past performances have included The Stories of Sheherezade, The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree, and Willy Wonka Jr. Check out our school calendar for this year's upcoming production!
